Vered Organic Botanicals

Packaging Design

Vered Organic Botanicals is a luxury skin and body care line crafted of entirely certified organic essential oils, plant oils and herbs. Vered came to us with a twofold problem: her packaging was not differentiated at retail, and her delicate blend of ingredients needed to be stabilized in the packaging in order to increase the shelf life of her products.

We began our update by addressing the ingredient stabilization issue, introducing Miron glass. This antioxidant, biophotonic glass acts as a natural filter against sunlight, preserving the potency of natural ingredients, extending shelf life. Miron glass allows only visible violet light, non-visible UVA and far-Infrared light rays to enter, which maintain the natural product's beneficial properties for the skin. Miron glass is actually a rich, deep purple that appears to be black in most environments, so we opted for black as our design cue for the primary packaging, selecting a subtle but contrasting metallic gold to accentuate the type on the bottles.

For the boxes, we made an unconventional design choice to differentiate Vered’s products from anything else on retail shelves. Our inspiration: handmade marbled papers that adorn the covers and end leaves of high quality collectable vintage books. The appeal of such books is that each printing is a unique monotype, rendering it rare and one-of-kind, matching the preciousness of Vered’s ingredients and her process of creation.

We started by selecting five unique marbled papers, one for each of Vered’s product categories: face oils, body oils, perfumes, masks and cleansers. This created an easily understandable, user-friendly visual language to guide customers in navigating the product line. To highlight the luxuriousness of the products, we updated the colors of the marbled papers by boldly printing two hits of metallic gold on black paper, reinventing a classical design with an unmistakably modern twist. We foil-stamped the logos and borders in gold to help the boxes stand out on the shelves. The result is a luxuriously natural, nourishing product line, with an elegantly innovative, well-executed presentation that shines at retail.
