As a publicly traded diversified mining company dealing in iron ore, copper, aluminum and diamonds, Rio Tinto called on us to launch their Origins Diamond brand. This consciously curated launch would help differentiate the messaging between the diamond division and their other verticals.

Because they own their own mines and manufacture a jewelry line, Origins has the unique capacity to trace their diamonds back to their own mine; a true differentiation from their competition who typically dance around chain-of-custody issues as the exact origin of the diamonds they purchase on the open market is unknown.

To highlight this clarity, we traveled to their famed Argyle Diamond Mine in Northern Australia, writing and directing a brand film to tell the story of the diamond in reverse: from finished piece of jewelry back to the stone’s origin deep within the Earth.
